Retirement Singapore began with a simple idea.

Make the most of what you have – and look forward to what comes next.

For some, that may mean making better use of their CPF. For others, it could mean taking better care of their health, travelling more, discovering a new hobby, spending more time with family and friends, or simply enjoying life at a different pace.

There is no single version of a good retirement. But whatever ours looks like, it helps to understand our options and make choices that are right for us.

That’s why I started Retirement Singapore.

As I began planning for my own retirement, I found plenty of information online — but it was often scattered across different websites. Some was highly technical, some was written for readers in other countries, and sometimes I simply wanted someone to explain what all that information might mean in everyday life.

So I decided to build a place that brings practical retirement-related information together in one website, written in plain English and and viewed through a Singapore lens.

But this site is not only about preparing financially for retirement.

It’s about looking ahead with confidence, staying curious and enjoying the new possibilities this chapter of life can bring.

Our Four Pillars

These four pillars support a well-rounded, meaningful and fulfilling retirement

A Friendly Note

I enjoy researching, learning and sharing what I discover — but I’m not a financial adviser, doctor or lawyer.

Think of Retirement Singapore as a useful starting point. I hope the articles help you understand your options, ask better questions and know where to look next.

For decisions that depend on your own finances, health or circumstances, do check with the relevant authorities or a qualified professional.

After all, retirement is personal. What works beautifully for one person may not be quite right for another.

A Little About How I Put Things Together

There is a lot of information out there — sometimes a little too much!

AI is being used as one of the tools that helps research topics, organise my thoughts and turn complicated information into something easier to read. Think of it as a useful assistant — not the person running Retirement Singapore.

Before anything is published, care is taken to make sure the information is clear, useful and supported by reliable sources where appropriate. Helpful links are also included where possible, so you can explore the topic further if you wish.

Of course, things change. CPF rules get updated, schemes evolve, prices move and websites get revised. I do my best to keep information accurate and current to the best of my knowledge at the time of publication, but I can’t promise that everything will remain current over time.

AI may help behind the scenes, but the ideas I choose to explore, what finally gets published and the spirit of Retirement Singapore remain very much human.

Here’s to the Next Chapter

Retirement doesn’t have to mean slowing down or stepping away from the things that make life interesting.

There can still be new places to see, things to learn, people to meet, healthier habits to build and experiences we’ve yet to discover.

Retirement Singapore is about approaching those years with a little more knowledge, confidence and optimism.

Plan well. Live well. Age well.
